Jacklines
I bought blue nylon 45' jack lines from
Sailnet. These lines
have asymmetric carabineer hooks on one end.
A beefy bow shackle is attached to the back of the stem-head
fitting and the key is seized with stainless wire. I hook the lines to the
shackle and run them inside the shrouds all the way to the stern cleats
Soaking the lines overnight in a bucket of water get them
soft and they can be stretched tight.
Pad-eyes
Two wichard folding pad-eyes are through-bolted on two sides of the cockpit
- about knee-high. I can stay attached to either side with the 6' elastic
tether and reach the wheel comfortably.
There is a second set of similar folding pad-eyes on each side of the
mast around waist-level. They are great for any extended length of work
around the base of the mast.
